Be an Overcomer by Stella Ashworth

Be An Overcomer

As Christians, life can hit us with many curveballs. Jesus never said that we will have an easy life, but instead, it will be filled with trials and tribulations. Paul said that no matter what, we should learn to persevere, because in the end, perseverance is what builds our character. (Romans 5:3-5).

I don’t know why some people face harder battles than others. I don’t always understand why God does what He does, but one thing I do know, is that God often gives the most difficult battles to His toughest soldiers. If I were to pen down all the battels I had to face, this writing will have no end. But because of Him, I overcame.

God wants us to overcome our battles. He wants us to fight, to win and grow stronger in Him. It’s not the will of God that we should stay down or stay in our pain. It’s not His will that we should remind ourselves of a past that is no longer there and longer serves us.

When God looks at us in our pain, I can hear His whisper. “Get up. Live.”

The only way we can experience a greater life in Christ, is when we are willing to transform our minds and direct our hearts to think the right way according to the Word of God. We can read the Bible all we want, we can study it, day and night, but if it doesn’t transform our lives, there is something very wrong.

The Bible is the greatest Book ever written and every possible solution to whatever problem we are facing. When we apply the Word of God and allow It to live in us and through us, that is when things change. Our belief system needs to match our faith. So, no matter the storms, the trials or tribulations, we know that nothing can move us.

What the devil meant for our harm; God will always turn around for our good.

Being an overcomer is not just a word, it’s a way of life.
