Strength, Purpose, and Divine Connection by stella ashworth
Samson’s story is one of power, purpose, and redemption. His strength was legendary, a gift from God, and a sign of his divine calling. But his true power was never just in his muscles, it was in his obedience and connection to God.
His hair symbolized his covenant with the Lord. As long as he honoured that covenant, he remained unstoppable. Yet, when he allowed his vow to be broken through Delilah’s deception, he lost more than his strength, he lost his divine covering.
This teaches us a powerful truth: Our strength is not just in our abilities, but in our relationship with God. When we stay aligned with Him, nothing can truly defeat us.
Even in failure, Samson’s final act showed that God’s grace is greater than our mistakes. His hair grew back, and with it, his strength returned, proving that restoration is always possible when we turn back to God.
Always remember my beloved in Christ, your true power is not in what you have, but in who you are in God. Stay connected, honour your calling, and even if you fall, His grace can restore you.
One of the most powerful prayers Samson prayed is found in Judges 16:28 (NIV): "Then Samson prayed to the LORD, “Sovereign LORD, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.”
This was Samson’s final prayer before he pushed down the pillars of the Philistine temple, destroying his enemies and fulfilling his divine purpose, even in his last moments.
It is a reminder that no matter how far we may fall, God hears us when we call on Him with a sincere heart.
