Dear Beloved in Christ,

Seasons are beautiful gifts designed by God. Each season carries a purpose, a lesson, and an opportunity for growth. Yet so often we find ourselves holding on to a season that has already ended because we are trying to remain loyal to people, when we should be listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

There are times in life when God begins to move us in a new direction, but our hearts remain attached to what was. We cling to familiar places, familiar relationships, familiar ministries, and familiar routines because they have become comfortable.

We tell ourselves that our loyalty is a virtue, yet sometimes what we call loyalty is actually resistance to God's leading.

Today I was reminded that it is never too late to begin again.

Sometimes God allows us to let go of what was so that He can shape us for what will be. Trusting Him means embracing the new season He has prepared, even when it requires leaving the old one behind. "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43:19)

When we cling to a season that God is calling us to leave behind, we often hinder the growth He desires to produce within us. Sometimes God allows doors to close, not to punish us, but to redirect us, refine us, and draw us into His greater purpose.

Many of us pray for growth, breakthrough, and transformation, yet we resist the very changes that God uses to bring them about.

We ask God to move, but when He does, we struggle to let go of what is familiar. We ask for new opportunities, yet keep returning to old patterns. We desire a new season while remaining anchored to the old one.

Scripture reminds us: "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) God's closed doors are not always rejection, often they are redirection toward a season where His will can flourish in us more fully.

What feels like loss may actually be preparation. What feels like an ending may be the beginning of something far greater than we can presently see.

Do not allow loyalty to people to stand in the way of the plans God has for your life. Do not let loyalty to people hold you back from where God is calling you to go. Do not let misplaced loyalty be the reason history keeps repeating itself. Do not allow the enemy to use your loyalty as a weapon against your obedience.

There is a profound difference between honouring people and following them beyond where God is leading. God calls us to love, respect, and serve others, but our highest allegiance must always belong to Christ.

When loyalty to people becomes greater than loyalty to Jesus, it can keep us trapped in seasons that God intended to end.

The truth is that obedience often requires courage. It may require stepping away from what is familiar. It may require disappointing people who do not understand God's calling on your life. It may require walking a path that others cannot yet see. But if God is leading, then He is also sustaining.

Follow Jesus wherever He leads. Trust Him when He says stay. Trust Him when He says go. Trust Him when He closes a door. Trust Him when He opens a new one.

Your highest loyalty belongs to Christ. Follow Him, even when the path requires leaving behind what is familiar, comfortable, or expected.

As you journey through life, remember that every season has its purpose. Some seasons are meant to be embraced, while others are meant to be released.

Do not fear the ending of one season when God is preparing the beginning of another. The same God who led you through yesterday will faithfully guide you into tomorrow.

May you have the wisdom to recognize when a season has ended, the courage to release what God is asking you to surrender, and the faith to walk boldly into the future He has prepared for you.

For the God who closes one door is also the God who opens another, and His plans for your life are always greater than anything you leave behind.

Be faithful to His voice. Be obedient to His leading. And never be afraid to follow Jesus into a new season.

Grace and peace to you in Christ,

Stella Ashworth - Bay Talk.
