What is a curse and can we break a curse put in place by God? Are we following God's Word correctly or have we fallen away by practicing false doctrines?
Do we spend our lives chasing "spirits" and yet we fail to understand what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross of Calvary? Disobedience to God's Word opens so many doors of bad things in our lives. What hinders our prayers from being answered?
If there is a generational curse, who placed it?
Pastor Louwtjie Kilian from Lorraine Full Gospel Church in Port Elizabeth, feels passionate about this topic as he understands what God’s Word says about it.
Who place curses? If there is a generational curse, who placed it? Some say it comes from the parent, others break curses blaming the devil and his demons. Binding demons and resist all kinds of evil spirits. There is no scriptural basis for this at all. Curses are placed by God Himself. Deuteronomy 11:26, Deuteronomy 30:19 Deuteronomy 27 as well as Deuteronomy 28.
Cain was cursed by God (Genesis 4:11). All who Curse Abraham and his seed were cursed by God. All the Israelites were cursed by God because of disobedience. God cursed all those who robbed Him as per Malachiah 3:9. SO NO ONE CAN BREAK A CURSE WHICH GOD PLACED ACCEPT GOD HIMSELF.
As soon as people repent and turn back to God, He delights in turning the curse into a blessing. Take Ruth, she was a Moabite woman and deserved no blessing as she was no Jew. But the moment she accepted the God of Israel (Ruth 1:16-17) she was blessed and placed in the lineage of Christ. She became the grandmother of David. (Matthew 1:5)
Please read the story in Number 22-24 concentrate on Numbers 23:8, 19-20. To become a born again believer is to be blessed. All curses were delt with and revoked. No generational curses! This is unscriptural. Our sinful bloodline ended at the cross, there we received a blood transfusion and the nature of God Himself. Christ came to live in us (1 John 4:40). And greater is He who lives in me than he wo lives in the world.
We all once walked according to the course of this world. According to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now operates in the children of disobedience. But after we believed, we were sealed in the Holy Spirit and our inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14), perfected forever (Hebrews 10:14), We have nothing in common with the devil. (1 Corinthians 6:15).
GOD AND THE DEVIL DON'T SHARE THE SAME TEMPLE (OUR BODIES NOR THE BLOODLINE). Through the first Adam sin(death) entered, but through the last Adam (eternal life). It stop at the cross. No one can bless what God cursed and no one can curse that who God bless.
So what now….. Can we break a curse? The answer is NO. WHY NO? For God Himself spoke out the curse, not a man nor the Devil (Serpent).
This all because of disobedience on the part of Adam and Eve in Genesis 2:16-17. Because they listened to the Serpent (Devil) in Genesis 3:1-6 and so deliberately sinned. So now we ask again, can a man, preacher, teacher, apostle or any one of us, break a curse over us which God Himself spoke out? (Sound coming from God's own mouth). Again, NO. Deuteronomy 28:1-68. These are the Blessings and curses God Himself spoke out and now God Himself gives us choices. Not the devil. (Deuteronomy 11:26).
We choose under the O T law. There are 613 laws, and we have to obey them all to ensure the blessing of God (through Works) but disobeying one is like being disobedient to all 613 laws and that needs to be punished as per the law. Obedience is a choice, and the result is Blessings. Disobedience is a choice, and the results is the curse.
Due to the fall of Adam and Eve we all inherited the sinful nature of the devil. (Romans 5:18-19). So God sent His only Begotten Son Jesus the Christ (John 3:16) to break the curse (1 John 3:8 & Galatians 3:13-14).
Now we either believe it is done and agree with God. (Amos 3:3 – “Shall two walk together and not agree”). If we disagree with God and still run around breaking curses left, right and centre, indicating that Jesus failed on the cross and that His statement as per John 19:30 were false, then we slap Him in the face and call Him a liar.
Testelestai This word comes from the verb Teleo, meaning to “BRING TO AN END, TO COMPLETE,TO ACOMPLISH,FINAL PAYMENT,TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE.I DID EXACTLY WHAT I CAME TO DO”.
“O FOOLISH GALATIANS, WHO BEWITCHED YOU TO FOLLOW ANOTHER GOSPEL!" Be aware of those who break curses over the blood washed, redeemed children of God. (Ephesians 1:7). We are Holy Spirit Sealed! (Ephesians 1:13).
Doing deliverance and chasing demons out of the Born again, binding all kinds of water spirits, black mamba spirits, bloodline curses after the cross, on a Christian who is washed in the redeeming blood of the Lamb, is not scriptural. Not one of Satan's cohort him, included escaped CALVARY.
Jesus Christ destroyed every weapon of the enemy and humiliated them all. (Colossians 2:15). Be aware of those leading you astray.
NO MAN CAN BREAK A CURSE WHICH GOD SPOKE OUT, ONLY GOD CAN. HE DID ON THAT CROSS. THE CURSE WAS REVERSED...THAT'S IT!
