The Crossroads of Decision

Every person must come to a moment of truth, a point where they decide what Jesus Christ truly means to them. It is not a decision that can be made by a parent, a pastor, or a friend. It’s deeply personal, life-defining, and eternal. Christ asks each of us: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15).

Some see Him as a great teacher. Others, as a distant historical figure. But to those who have encountered Him personally, He is Saviour, Redeemer, and the very essence of life itself.

The world pulls us in many directions, offering wealth, success, and comfort. Yet, Jesus calls us to a far greater treasure, Himself. The question remains: Have you truly decided for Christ?

You Cannot Serve Two Masters

Jesus said it plainly: “No one can serve two masters… You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24). The pull of materialism, ambition, and worldly comfort often wars against our devotion to God. It’s easy to say “I follow Jesus,” while still holding tightly to the things of this world. But the Lord calls us to surrender.

To serve Him fully means to release anything that competes for His throne in our hearts,  whether it’s money, recognition, or comfort. To follow Christ is to live with open hands, allowing Him to give and take according to His will. It is a radical faith that says, “Lord, You are enough.”

Dying to Self - The Daily Cross

Jesus never promised that following Him would be easy. He said, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23). Dying to self means letting go of pride, selfish ambition, and our own agendas. It means surrendering our dreams to align with His divine purpose. It’s not a one-time act but a daily choice, a lifestyle of obedience and humility.

Every day, we decide whether we will walk in the Spirit or gratify the desires of the flesh. The cross we carry may look different for each of us, it might be persecution, loss, or a difficult calling, but each step of surrender brings us closer to His likeness.

The Cost of Discipleship

Following Christ comes at a price. It can cost us relationships, opportunities, comfort, and even our reputation. Sometimes, choosing Him means standing alone, misunderstood and rejected. But remember: the path of the cross is also the path of glory.

When we lose for Christ’s sake, we gain something far greater,  His presence, His peace, and His eternal promise. Jesus said, “Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:25). The world may see it as loss, but heaven sees it as victory.

Christ Is Worth It All

The Apostle Paul counted everything as loss compared to knowing Christ (Philippians 3:8). There is nothing, no career, relationship, or possession, that compares to the surpassing worth of walking with Him.

When you decide for Christ, you choose a love that never fades, a truth that never fails, and a kingdom that never ends. The cross may cost you everything, but it gives you everything that truly matters.

Have You Decided for Christ?

This is not a call to religion but to relationship. Not to comfort, but to commitment. Not to fleeting happiness, but to eternal joy. Christ stands at the door and knocks (Revelation 3:20).

The decision is yours.

Will you open your heart and follow Him, no matter the cost?

Scriptures to Reflect On

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”  Mark 8:36

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20

“Whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”  Luke 14:27

“Christ is not valued at all unless He is valued above all.” — Augustine

“When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“The cross is not the end of the story; it is the doorway to true life.” Unknown

Will you decide for Christ today? The price is high but He is worth every cost.
