the Victory of Finishing Faithful By Stella Ashworth
How often do we look back at what lies behind us, forgetting that God is calling us forward? We cannot change yesterday, but we can choose to trust Him with tomorrow.
Our failures, regrets, and disappointments are not where our story ends. Our eyes must remain fixed on Jesus, and our hearts set on eternity.
Paul understood that this journey was about far more than the things of this world. It was about knowing Christ, remaining faithful, and finishing well. “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)
The Christian walk is not always easy. There will be battles that test our faith, temptations that challenge our obedience, and seasons when the road ahead seems uncertain. But we are not called to give up. We are called to persevere, to deny ourselves, to take up our cross, and to follow Jesus.
And one day, when our earthly journey is over, may these words be the testimony of our lives: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
What a tragedy it would be to gain the world yet lose sight of eternity.
What a victory it will be to stand before our Lord, knowing that by His grace, we remained faithful to the end.
So let us stop living in yesterday. Let us stop chasing what cannot satisfy. Let us press on, with our eyes fixed on Jesus and our hearts surrendered to Him.
For the greatest victory is not in how much we gain in this life, but in remaining faithful to Christ until the very end.
